HestiaPi ONE revision 2?

We feel it will be fairly hard to find a solution that satisfies all below points:

  • Host the “server” (hub) in the HestiaPi hw
  • Keep the same fairly cheap hw
  • Enjoy all the bells and whistles (app, extensions, integrations, support)

This has been the main drive behind the attempt to make the new model as we believe this is the right architectural move to have all the heavy lifting to an external machine.
Back when HestiaPi was announced, already having another system run your smart home was not that popular and HestiaPi was bridging this gap but providing both the hub and the thermostat.
Hestia32 will be a dumb but autonomous/standalone thermostat that will possibly talk over IP or Matter/Thread and support external smart home systems like openHAB, HomeAssistant…
Obviously it will be targeted to different people but we find hard to maintain the current situation.
