Drivers for 3.5" touchscreen

Hello,

I recently downloaded Hestia Pi to experiment with, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it came already installed with necessary drivers to drive a chinese knock off of the waveshare 3.5" touchscreen that attaches through the GPIO on the RPi. I’ve been digging through it, trying to determine exactly which driver it’s using, as I have another side project that I’m trying to use this touchscreen for, but I am unable to figure out which driver this is using.

The touchscreen came with a driver disc, but the directions to add are so convoluted and confusing (also half of it is in chinese), that I haven’t the foggiest how to install them myself. It also looks like it has to be used with specific kernel versions. So I figured if I could find out how Hestia Pi has it working out of the box, then perhaps I can use that for my side project.

Can anyone help me on this?
